... but it would be from purchasing civil registration certificates, which would inevitably be more expense for the client. Some of my research is done on the Internet, using various online archives ... and these online archives do not usually provide details for people after 1901. In fact most genealogy resources, whether online or deposited in local archives, do not generally cover dates or events after 1901. This is due to data protection laws. Most parish & census records are closed to the general public for a minimum of 100 years. Therefore the client needs to provide information on the family from 1900 to present day, so that I have something to get started with. Once the ‘Family Tree’ has been researched ... and prior to going to print ... I would expect the client to provide any other information that they wish to be added to the book, such as family photos. Finally the client can choose their own preferred colour, to be used on the internal pages, as many pages have a 1cm coloured edge (see images above).
